HOW DOES IT WORK?
Thinking about incorporating Plant it Forward into your event?
Plant it Forward facilitates the positive impact your event can have. We repurpose the costs of your event merchandise, be it finisher t-shirts, medals, towels or buffs to organisations that have a direct positive impact on the environment.
Will this work?
Organisations have seen 20% of participants choose to defer these costs to an environmentally friendly option. The reduction in production, consumption and management is a huge win for an event, its participants and the environment.
How does it work?
In your event registration process, simply add an option that allows participants to choose Plant it Forward, instead of their free official event merchandise. Here is an example below:

Then what happens?
After the official event, a list of all participants who have selected Plant it Forward are processed and the funds are allocated to the partner organisation to get on with their re-wilding, rehabilitation or conservation work!
Plant it Forward will then provide a certificate of information about their positive impact. This will include a photo of their tree or shrubs, the species, the location of planting, rehabilitation or conservation.

How do we communicate this?
Below is an example from one of our partner events, Margaret River Ultra Marathon.
Thinking about logistics, race day is very busy and time is poor.
This process takes place during your event registration. All participants will allocate their preference prior to event day and allow a clear indication of production numbers as the event registration process takes place. Plant it Forward will manage all communications with participants post race (from the contact details supplied by the event organiser).

We’re only a small event, are we too small?
Whether the outcome of an event helps plant 5 trees or 5,000 trees, we would love to partner with your event!
Every action we take adds up and contributes to have a positive impact on our environment.
Right, we’re in! How do we get started?
If you’re keen to be a part of our mission, contact us!
And here is some text you can include in your website,
or social post!
“We’re partnering with Plant it Forward to offer you the option of planting a tree, rehabilitating or conserving natural lands instead of receiving our event merchandise (t-shirt or medal). Planting a tree, land rehabilitation or conservation is one of the best things you can do to fight climate change. Natural lands provide vital habitats for native species, rewild our landscapes and filter clean air for us to breathe. You’ll receive information on your positive impact which will include a photo of the trees or shrubs, the species, the location of planting and the purpose (rehabilitation or conservation).
